Varicose Vein Treatment

Varicose veins are swollen superficial veins that are nodular, lumpy and often dark blue. They usually appear on calfs ot thighs. They do not always lead to complications but it's an aesthetic problem. They will not dissapear without treatment and in some cases can lead to further complications such as inflammation of the vein or ulcer development. There are many ways to treating varicose veins and the choice highly depends on the extend of the disease. Treatment options include open surgical removal, electro-thermal ablation, and laser ablation. Both legs can be treated on one session. These are considered standard procedures and are performed in vascular surgery departments and general or plastic surgical departments.
