Septal Defects
There are ventricular and atrial septal defects. The ventricular septal defect is a hole in the deviding wall between the left and right heart chamber. That is a very common cardiac anomaly. If conservative treatment fails, open heart surgery may be needed. Atrial septal defects are similar, except that the location within the heart is different. These defects are located between the atrium and permit blood flow between the left and the right atrium. There are several ways to treat this pathology, either with open surgery or with a minimally invasive procedures. Any established heart surgery department in a polish hospital performs that kind of procedures.
