Angioplasty
Coronary angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure which goal is widening the lumen of a blocked blood vessel. It usually needs to be done after a severe development of atherosclerosis. In this procedure a balloon catheter is inserted into the vessel and after inflating the balloon the vessel is widened what makes blood flow more freely again. This procedure can also be performed in other important blood vessels such as the carotid or renal arteries. These procedures are considered standard in Poland.
