Cartilage Replacement
The joint cartilage in the knee generates little friction, is resistant to wear, and isn't very good at regenerating itself. Healthy cartilage in our joints makes it easier to move. Some conditions of osteoarthritis wear down this vital cartilage to the extent that bone is exposed. Articular cartilage can be damaged by injury or normal wear and tear. Before a knee replacement becomes necessary it is possible to try several options available to fix the cartilage. It is impossible to list all the options however it should be enough to say that our surgeons will be happy to advise you with the right treatment. Please contact us as well if you have any particular treatment in mind.
