Hip Replacement

Hip replacement, also called total hip arthroplasty, is an orthopedic surgical procedure that goal is to replace hip joint by a prosthetic implant. Modern implants consist of an artificial hip stem, a femoral head and an acetabular cup. Usually this procedure is performed to relieve pain from arthritis of the hip, or to repair severe damage to the hip joint.
